03/23/12 - VINTAGE MUGSHOTS PART III
We're not exactly sure what it is about these photos we are so drawn to - is it the incredible style these guys had, the history the images hold, the thoughts of what they might have done to be arrested and have mug shots taken? There is so much mystery behind them we can't help but be inspired when looking at them. What ever their story is, or why ever they have come to exist, we just know that we could look through many more and still get as excited as we do each time we see them.
03/21/12 - Taylor Supply Featured on Free / Man
We had the pleasure of meeting Darian Hocking of Free / Man a couple years back and since then he's been very supportive of what we've been doing here at Taylor Supply. Darian has a keen eye for all superior happenings in contemporary menswear and he makes that very apparent on his highly curated website. We're proud to be included in the mix of all the great things he researches and writes about, and as fashion fiends ourselves, check and read his site daily to learn about what's fresh in the market. Recently he featured our new spring collection on the site which can be seen in its entirety here.
03/19/12 - Popcorn Tunes on YouTube
We are greatly inspired by music here at Taylor. Unfortunately we recently seem to have run out of new songs to listen to and feel like we’ve played out our current collection. Luckily this past weekend we were given an amazing tip from a friend about a new place to find an extensive library of songs from a genre we love, but were not familiar with before. We were told about music enthusiasts who collect out of print 7 inches of what are known as “Popcorn tunes”, digitally record them, and upload them to YouTube. Each collector has their own YouTube channel they post to, and many of them have tons of great music uploaded from records that are extremely rare. A few of our favorite collectors are: Piloterec, 9759danny, lindapopcorn, TheMonoBaby, and MrRaresound. When researching these collectors we look for any songs they have listed as “popcorn top tunes” as these seem to be the best of the bunch. The song in this posting is an example of one we found and were really into.
We also learned that all this music can be converted from YouTube to MP3’s in your iTunes library by using conversion software that can be found by googling “YouTube to iTunes converter”.
We are huge music enthusiasts and had our minds blown by the amount of great songs and b-sides of records we found by looking into this. These records would be nearly impossible to find elsewhere. If you have an appreciation for music like we do, especally from this era, we hope you’ll take a look. The amount of songs to be discovered is so extensive we think you'll be pleased with what you find.
03/15/12 - Taylor Supply Featured on ACL
We’ve been fans of A Continuous Lean for years now and always appreciate the things Michael Williams presents on his site. We also love the extent that he goes to in articulating the idea behind what has been posted. Yesterday’s feature was about our new spring line. We are very proud to be featured within the likes of so much great content on the ACL site. Thank you Michael, keep up the great work and we’ll keep watching and reading.
